Frameless cabinets have concealed hinges- not visible with the cabinet doors closed.. This style of hinge is inserted into a pre-drilled hole in the back of the cabinet door, and secured to the inside of the cabinet box.

Face frame cabinets have two possible kinds of hinges:
A- Semi- Concealed: no hinge holes required- visible with cabinet doors closed.
B- Concealed: inserted into a pre-drilled hole in the back of the door- not visible with cabinet doors closed.
